We recoment to visit the Grossglockner High Alpine Road during off times, also quieter since there is less traffic. Optional accident insurance is available for the price of 4 euro per day (for more information visit the Ferleiten Infopoint).Safety precautions for bicycles on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road:
- Traffic signs set up in areas with poor visibility
- Map with numerous safety tips
- Accident insurance for every bicyclist with the following coverage (voluntarily 4 euro):
- EUR 5,000 in case of accidental death
- EUR 15,000 for permanent disability
- EUR 10,000 for rescue costs
- EUR 10,000 for plastic surgery
- A separate bicycle lane with ticket machine at the Ferleiten cash point
