Facilities adapted to the needs of the disabled along the Grossglockner High Alpine Road

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road is a suitable excursion destination for the disabled and wheelchair users.

Nearly all of the vantage points as well as parking and rest areas are accessible by car.
Some of the exhibitions can only be accessed by climbing a series of stairs to the higher floors but two exhibitions are easily accessed:
  • The exhibition at the Schöneck Meadow
  • The Visitor Center at Kaiser Franz Josefs Höhe with elevator access to all 4 floors
Restrooms equipped for the disabled along the road:
  • Ferleiten cash point
  • Alpine Nature Show Museum: basement restrooms are accessed over a sloping ramp, approx. 13 % downhill gradient (to be adapted for wheelchairs); the shop also has a seating facility.
  • Restrooms at Kaiser Franz Josefs Höhe (next to the Visitor Center)

Glocknerhaus Restaurant

The "Glocknerhaus" is located approx. 3 km below Kaiser Franz Josefs Höhe. It has a ramp suitable for wheelchairs and level-access restrooms for the disabled.
