The 34-kilometre-long panoramic road winds gently through the UNESCO Nockberge Biosphere Park - a natural gem that is perfect for a relaxing day trip with children. New impressions await at every bend: Alpine animals along the way, rushing streams, sweeping views and adventure stations that are not only informative but also designed with children in mind.

1. Silva Magica - the magical forest for little explorers
The ‘Silva Magica’ nature discovery park at the Grundalm is a special highlight for children. Between trees and roots, families can immerse themselves in the mystical world of the forest. The stations tell of the nature of the forest - of nature spirits, medicinal herbs and the significance of trees. An experience that conveys knowledge in a playful way and stimulates the imagination.

2. Nockalmhof Biosphere Reserve Centre
Right at the beginning (or end) of the road, it is worth visiting the Nockalmhof near Innerkrems. In the multimedia exhibition, children learn in an interactive way how the biosphere park works, why marmots whistle and what the unique ‘Nocken’ are all about.

3. the adventure exhibition ‘Wild Nockberge’ at the Pfandlhütte
This lovingly designed exhibition is aimed specifically at children and families. This exhibition brings visitors closer to the wild Nockberge mountains and their inhabitants. At interactive stations you can experience everything about the wild animals in the Nockberge. 

4. playground, alpine animals and nature up close
Whether playing in the playground at the Zechneralm or observing marmots in the wild - on the Nockalm Road, nature becomes an adventure playground. Many mountain huts offer plenty of space to run around - while parents relax with a snack.

•  How to get there: The road is easily accessible from both Innerkrems in the north and Ebene Reichenau in the south.
