Golden autumn on the Grossglockner: Season finale with reduced rates from 11 October!

Article from 06.10.2025

In autumn 2025, the Grossglockner High Alpine Road will remain open during the autumn holidays, even beyond the national holiday. Guests and locals alike can enjoy the golden late autumn in the high mountains of the Hohe Tauern National Park at reduced rates.

Guests can expect an impressive display of colours – bright yellow larch trees in the middle mountain ranges, hundreds of peaks, some already covered in snow, and mighty three-thousand-metre peaks in the heart of the Hohe Tauern, the largest national park in Central Europe. An opportunity not to be missed!

Numerous exhibitions and selected restaurants are currently still open along the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. Guests can find out which facilities are currently in operation directly at the ticket offices.

From Saturday, 11th October 2025, the following discounted autumn rates will apply until the final winter closure (expected at the end of October/beginning of November):

•    Cars: €35.00 (instead of € 45.00)
•    Motorcycles: €28.50 (instead of € 35.00)
•    Buses: €5.40 per person (instead of € 7.10)
