Grossglockner High Alpine Road still open until 10th November!
Article from 24.10.2024Due to the exceptionally long period of good weather, the season ‘on the Großglockner’ will be extended by another week, until Sunday, 10th November 2024.
An opportunity not to be missed! Visitors can expect superlative autumnal views in the high mountains. The forecast for fine weather guarantees sunshine on bright yellow larches as well as hundreds of partly snow-covered peaks and impressive three-thousand metre peaks in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, the largest protected area in Central Europe.
The following offers and exhibitions along the Grossglockner High Alpine Road will be open until 10 November 2024:
Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe visitor centre with all exhibitions
Highlight: new GROSSGLOCKNERKINO & Sepp Forcher exhibition
Shop Hochtor (Carinthian side) and
Shop Haus Alpine Naturschau (Salzburg side)
with restaurants and interesting exhibitions
The Freiwandeck restaurant on the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe will be open until Wednesday, 6th November 2024.
Due to the reduced catering and exhibition offer, the following (attractive) special rates will apply from Monday, 4 November 2024
Car tariff € 29.00 (instead of € 43.00)
Motorbike rate € 23.00 (instead of € 33.00)
Buses € 3.40 (instead of € 6.80 per person)
With this further extension of the season, the operator GROHAG (Grossglockner Hochalpenstrassen AG) is deliberately creating an attractive offer in every respect in late autumn for guests from the region and locals who are still here.
