Electronic mobility on the Glockner Road

Eco-friendly travelling with e-vehicles and Austria’s highest e-charging station

We will reward you for your decision to drive a climate-friendly and clean electromobile: receive a ticket at a reduced rate for your drive on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road! But that’s not all. There are electronic charging stations at the start of the alpine road in Bruck an der Glocknerstrasse in the north and Heiligenblut in the south. Coming from Salzburg, you’ll find another e-charging stations at the cash point Ferleiten, parking Piffkar, Haus Alpine nature exhibition, at the Hochtor, Schöneck and at the cash point Heiligenblut. The highlight for electromobile drivers is Austria’s highest electronic charging station on the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe. Enjoy the good feeling of particularly eco-friendly driving while looking at the Grossglockner!

100 % E-charging reliability at the Grossglockner

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road offers now 15 e-charging stations. The topic of e-mobility has never been more topical than now: Full Glockner ePower in the National Park Hohe Tauern & 100 new e-charging points around the Grossglockner by 2025.

From now on, two fast charging stations are also available in the north in front of the toll gate Fusch/Ferleiten (with 120 kW) and in the south in front of the toll gate Heiligenblut (with 60 kW) (obliged to pay, credit or debit card).

The charging stations along the Grossglockner High Alpine Road have a connection power of 22 kW each and are available to visitors free of charge on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. Adapters for e-motorcycles and designated parking areas (marked green) for loading vehicles, complete the offer of emission-free mobility.

Our fees for the charging station which are not in the Grossglockner High Alpine Road area (toll gate Ferleiten und Heiligenblut, hotel Römerhof, tennis court Rauris, in town Heiligenblut, Krimml Worlds of Water):
normal charging station: 0.49 €/kWh
fast charging station: 0.59 €/kWh
(credit or debit card, or several charging cards)

The maximum free parking time is 90 minutes for the fast charging station (120 kW) and 180 minutes for the normal charging station (22 kW). After that, € 0.10/min. charged as a standing fee.

The Grossglockner Pleasure E-Tour through the Hohe Tauern National Park

230 km sustainable e-driving experience

The Grossglockner Pleasure E-Tour: This is a 230 km-long round trip that guarantees pure joy of driving. It takes you not only over Europe's most spectacular panoramic road – the Grossglockner High Alpine Road – but also through the unspoilt countryside of the Hohe Tauern National Park in Salzburg, Osttirol and Carinthia. And quite apart from the fact that the route is a driver's dream come true, with its dense network of charging stations it is ideally equipped for e-vehicles. In other words, the entire Grossglockner E-Tour can comfortably be driven with an e-vehicle – but of course also with a normal car, motorbike or even bicycle...
